Vacation.

These photos were taken in the tiny village of Bucks Mills (it's even smaller then the village I live in) which always reminds me of the village in The Prisoner, it has a sort of eerie feel like no one really belongs there. While in the summer there is always a few tourists milling about, in the winter the place is totally deserted due to the large amount of holiday homes and small amount of things to do. I just think the place is kind of perfect.

Vacation season it upon us, and I for one cannot wait to see the sun (preferably in a foreign climate). I want to go on one of those holidays where there is the need to take a trunk and a hat box; maybe a tour of Italy on a luxurious train where a waiter serves your cold Pimms and you take lunch in the Buffet carriage. You'd meet a mysterious man who would whisk you off to a tiny island, where he keeps his private yacht and you'd have the beach all to yourself, something like Talented Mr. Ripley but without the identity theft, murder and Matt Damon. Holding on to this fantastical idea I have been thinking a lot about the perfect Swimsuit/Bikini and other holiday accessories. After much searching I found a lovely high-waisted black bikini from American Apparel which encapsulates the 1940's/50's feel I'm after (it may make a blog appearance over the summer) and a Topshop Swimsuit which has a really retro feel. Paired with some vintage tortoise shell sunglasses and a large straw bag I should feel just like Gwyneth.

Dress: Topshop
Hat: Vintage (I can't remember where from though)
Sunglasses: H&M
Necklace: Made from an old brooch.
